Dubbo regional Council supporting regional artists
It’s just days until local artists will be joining the likes of Thirsty Merc and Little Quirks for the Under Western Skies Festival. Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) is proudly sponsoring this year’s event, which supports the emerging music industry in the Dubbo region. There are seven events over four days, across a number of different locations around Dubbo this weekend from Thursday 18 – Sunday 21 March, 2021.
Event organiser Fred Randell said that the weekend-long music festival will support metropolitan, regional, and local artists.
“We’ve got two performances happening Friday night at local venues, so we’ve got the Commercial Hotel kicking things off with Andy Nelson with a bunch of local and regional artists, and also on Friday night, at the Amaroo we’ve got the rock show, This goes to 11! kicking off with Red Bee from the Mountains,” said Mr Randell.

The Morrison Government will provide $12 million to help smaller tourism operators promote their business and reach new customers to take advantage of the Government-backed 800,000 discounted holiday flights.
The Government will provide $12 million to provide new photography and video material to up to 1,800 tourism operators from 57 regions around Australia. The program will be launched in Cairns this week with Tourism Australia meeting with local operators and industry to discuss details.
“We want Australians to do their patriotic duty and book a holiday and that’s why we’re turbo-charging confidence by providing 800,000 half-price airfares to tourist destinations around the country,” Mr Tehan said.
VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN): The authorities have launched new projects to accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices across the industry sector in Laos.
The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is supporting the ‘Laos Green Industry Policy’ project to develop this policy and enable work to be carried out in the field of industrial energy efficiency by government officials and the private sector.
In parallel, the Green Climate Fund has provided a readiness grant for ‘Market Preparation for Industrial Energy Efficiency in Laos’, an 18-month programme with GGGI as the delivery partner.
Under the project, policy gaps for a greener and more efficient energy industrial sector will be addressed, an action plan for private investments in the industrial energy sector will be developed, sectoral expertise will be improved, and stakeholders including the private sector will be engaged and effectively coordinated.

ISLAMABAD: Large scale manufacturing (LSM) sector posted a 9.1 percent year-on-year growth in January as cement and auto production returned to a pre-lockdown level, official data showed on Tuesday.
On month-on-month basis, LSM went up 5.4 percent, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Head of Research Tahir Abbas at Arif Habib Limited said monthly quantum index of manufacturing reached at a 34-month high.
âLarge scale manufacturing index is on the highest level after March 2018.in other words you can say that manufacturing sector is running at highest capacity after March 2018,â Abbas told The News.
The annual rise was triggered by food (16.4pc), non-metallic mineral products (37pc), autos (23.4pc), textile (3.2pc), pharmaceuticals (8.1pc), paper and board (13.2pc), coke (2.3pc), fertiliser (2.1pc) and chemicals (1.4pc).
